“We’re glad that we were able to meet you in person to view the photos because it’s hard to express the amazing feelings that we felt seeing the photos for the first time. As we have poured over them with each other and family and friends, we have relived every moment over again. The photos do such an unbelievable job at telling the story of the day that we rarely have to narrate to explain how we felt – it is easy to gather from the looks on our faces and angles that you captured. Part of me was anxious about not having a videographer that day, but your photos have so much life and movement that they view like a movie. Each photo is a treasure to us. One of my personal favourites is the one you captured of my dad peeking into the sanctuary before I was about to walk in. The smile on his face is one I’ll want to remember forever and I now can. Thank you!”

It’s not much of a secret that I’m a bit of an Apple fan boy so I was saddened to learn of Steve Jobs death today.

I’ll leave it to the professionals to write about his life and influence on the world but I think this old Apple TV ad sums up his life perfectly… it’s almost as if they made it thinking of him. Who knows, maybe they did?

Seriously.

Weddings are tough things to shoot, it takes years of experience before you get any good at it.

There’s an old analogy that good pots does not a chef make. The same holds true with cameras and photographers.

Just because your friend has a new camera doesn’t make them a wedding photographer.

So hire a pro. A good one.

Doesn’t even have to be me, just make sure you have a professional to document one of the most important days in your life.

Ask to see an entire wedding. Ask for references. Ask any and every question you can think of.

If you don’t like the answers, keep looking.
